Approach: This inaugural ball was held on January 18, 2009, 2 days before Barack Obama was inaugurated as President of the United States. The purpose of the event was to highlight the music, food, and culture that he would have been exposed to growing up in Hawaii in the 1970s. I tried to reflect that 70's tropical look in the colors, graphics, and layout that I selected.
